Abandon yourself. You will be thrown into a psychiatric hospital in Illinois, a tea cultivation in Japan or an unchurched Church of the Mediterranean, among carols of sounds, electronic loops and military marches, happy chants and sophisticated ‘melismas’. Sonatin for a Jazz Funeral will guide you. Authors and protagonists at the same time, the story of these four guys is made of perpetual experimentation and overwhelming emotional absorption. They want to create a route where no boundaries stop the music: every song is a trip where people need to abandon themselves to be cuddled or stirred up by the sound. It’s a game of mysteries and revelations: because their personal Sonatina comes from the European classical music, but it is also inspired by the Japanese filmmaker Takeshi Kitano and by the Jazz funerals of New Orleans, between sushi and African spirits…can you feel it?
