Neanche un mese John Legend è riuscito a ottenere un EGOT, acronimo che negli Stati Uniti è riservato a chi è riuscito a vincere Grammy (lui ne ha vinti 10), Oscar (per la Miglior canzone originale, “Glory” del film “Selma”), Tony (per il Miglior revival di un’opera, l’opera teatrale “Jitney”) e infine Emmy, che si è aggiudicato il 10 settembre come produttore dello spettacolo “Jesus Christ Superstar – Live in Concert”. Il cantautore multi-platino così annuncia l’uscita del suo primo album di Natale, “A Legendary Christmas”, che uscirà per Columbia Records in cd, digitale e vinile il 26 ottobre e vede la produzione esecutiva di Raphael Saadiq e i featuring di Esperanza Spalding e Stevie Wonder, che suona l’armonica in “What Christmas Means to Me”.
Per accompagnare l’uscita dell’album, Legend darà il via al “A LEGENDARY CHRISTMAS Tour”: 25 date che inizieranno il 15 novembre da Clearwater, Florida, e che termineranno il 30 dicembre a San Diego.
