Samuele Bersani celebrates the twentieth anniversary of his career with a double album: "Psycho - 20 anni di canzoni", an anthology of 28 songs, selected and 'rivisited' by he himself, that was released in stores on February 22. Samuele Bersani has just come back from the 62nd Edition of the Sanremo Festival, a festival he really wanted to take part in, where he won the Mia Martini award.
Samuele told us how he called Gianni Morandi on his personal number, how they met and how he asked him to listen to his song "Un pallone" , thus receiving the invitation of the singer/ presenter to take part in the Festival.
"Un pallone", as he told us, is a very sad song that was inspired by a real episode, when, opening the door, he saw a dog with a punctured balloon in his mouth. He immediately thought about how many people would not care for a punctured balloon, whereas a dog does. Thus he came to believe that there is still hope for a better world.
The lyrics and the story of the songs are deep, it is a sad story that ends badly, but for many people, due to its fast pace, it just comes accross as a fun song, just like his most famous hit “Chicco e spillo”.
The aim of the song is to show how people degenerate in this society: nowadays we care about trivial, stupid things and it is more important to take a photo with the the sunken ship Concordia in the background to put on fb, than to understand that it's a real tragedy.
But let’s go back to “Psyco, vent’anni di canzoni”, the song that was choosen as the title of the anthology, 20 anni di canzoni. It's been three years since the release of “Manifesto abusivo” and now Bersani is back with these two CDs, revisited by the singer himself. This album therefore is not just a best of, as many people would think, but it contains both songs such as Chicco e spillo, Replay, Cattiva, Spacca cuore, Giudizi universali and other hits, but also two brand new songs "Un pallone” e “Psyco”. His "In Psycho Tour" will start on March 29 at the Auditorio della Conciliazione of Rome and end in Turin on May 17, 2012.
