Scara Soul Dub Records releases the new album by Kabaddu & dj Scara . The title of the album is “Riparto da qui” (I am starting fresh NT), as if to symbolize a new beginning, a new journey, a new adventure in which the two artists come together to create an original project, where their experiences blend. The project has a multicultural background as Scara comes from Terni, in the heart of the Umbria region, whereas Kabaddu is Sardinian, to be precise he comes from Sassari. Two distant realities, but close in many ways. Scara, a dj, producer and radio presenter (Keep on Moving reggae radio show) has an innate passion for rap, later on turning to reggae music (along with Gillo he founded Rude Society sound) and becoming fond of upbeat sounds. To him this album is a return to the origins, a way to revive and rediscover the Hip Hop sounds, to which he has been attached for years. Kabaddu, mc of Rigantanti and promoter of the Hip Hop events with the Association 4MAQ, has chosen to try himself as a solo artist with this record, relying on the beats of dj Scara, with whom a great artistic complicity immediately happened. “Riparto da qui” came actually from an idea of the dj, which was immediately greeted with enthusiasm by Kabaddu, who demonstrates an exceptional talent when rapping on the rap beats of Scara. The sound of this album are unique. Scara has in fact decided to use several samples from various musical genres, from the soul of the seventies to Italian music, fusing them with his beats and, in some cases, with analog synths. As for content, Kabaddu topics range from the most typical of rap, addressed by him in an original and personal way, to more introspective and sometimes ironic themes. The album is sung in Italian, sometimes the MC uses some expressions from the dialect of Sassari or some English expressions.
“Riparto da qui” is a result of their need to express themselves through music, fitting into a context in which unfortunately, what matters is often not the content but the appearance. The album also contains collaborations with Gillo, Vlade, Giocca, DJ Skunk and dj MUF.
